Rich was always extremely pleasant to deal with. He tried to limit his aesthetic advice, but the advice he gave was good. The sofa was done very nicely and I’m extremely pleased with the results.

Richard is great. A friend has used him for years and she suggested I contact him this winter to recover a cute chair I wanted to save as well as a curved bench. Rich matched a complicated pattern perfectly on the chair and suggested some cool design changes. You get what you pay for with upholsterers. Rich did a very nice job for me at an ok price; worth it. Book early, he’s busy.

Richard was a consummate gentleman throughout the entire process of helping us choose appropriate material and installing it. He was very accommodating in schedule (he worked on the pieces while we were away for vacation), and quite patient as we mulled over several options for selecting and obtaining materials. Once we finally decided, the work was beautifully done and the end result was more than satisfactory.

In 2008, Richard Leach reupholstered my parents’ 1962 sofa, and recently a friend managed to break one of the bars in the wooden frame. I’m about 40 minutes away. Although he brought all kinds of tools for any eventuality, he was actually able to fix it simply and quickly with a mending plate, reconnecting the clean break in the wood. Mr. Leach did a wonderfully complete make-over of my beloved chair. He was punctual, professional, a perfectionist, and honest. He picked up my chair to be reupholstered, and was flexible to allow me to pick out my own fabric from any place I chose, and over time communicated to me progress of his work. It looks like I gave him an old worn out chair, and he returned a brand new chair in its place. I loved also that he touched up the finish of the woodwork.

When he did take it, he was clear that it would take him a long time to get it done. He did the job by the date he had promised. He was always extremely pleasant to deal with.
